To promote and value First Nations people and practices within wider society. To shed insight from a First Nations perspective on how we are disadvantaged as a people in this society. To provide a space that embraces and celebrates life and through sharing of stories in a culturally safe place. The true history of this country is unknown to many because what's written in our history books wasn't told by First Nations people. These are our stories and our way of life. My ancestors were the original custodians of this land known as Australia and their ways were not valued by those who became the majority.
We all have a story and some knowledge of our country, environment, animals and seasons, rivers and seas, traditional hunting and gathering, and food sources (bush food), healing methods, languages, dance and songs, arts and craft. We can have a spiritual connection to our maker, our land and each other.
Come and learn about mine and share yours, lets value each other and be kind to one another.
Let's treat all people with Respect, courtesy and fairness and be gentle with one another and ensure the space is a safe place for all. Let's learn from each other and grow, let's allow each other to make mistakes, apologise and forgive, and move on.
